The Swiss franc is a recommended currency for both swing and day trading. Although it is not a major currency, it has a reasonable price range. Since the price range is not as wide as the pound and euro, it falls into the category of minor currencies. It is okay to hold down only the most important economic indicators. Here is a list of Swiss economic indicators.

KOF Economic Leading Index (Importance: Low)

This is the business sentiment index released monthly by the KOF Swiss Institute of Economic Research at the ETH Zurich. It is said to be a leading indicator of the Swiss economy and can predict the future of the Swiss economy.

Producer import price (importance: low)

Announced by the Swiss Federal Statistics Bureau. It shows the movement of inflation in producer prices and import prices. Higher numbers make it easier to buy Swiss francs.

Consumer Price Index (Importance: Medium)

Announced by the Swiss Federal Statistics Bureau. By indexing the survey results of price trends of goods and services and knowing the price trends of the countries to be announced, it will be a material for predicting business sentiment, inflation rate, and consumption trends.

Retail sales (importance: medium)

Published by the Swiss Federal Statistics Bureau, it surveys the total sales of retailers such as department stores. Higher retail sales suggest an improvement in the Swiss economy, making it easier to buy the Swiss franc.

Unemployment rate (importance: high)

Published by the Economic Secretariat of the Swiss Ministry of Economy, it is an indicator of the ratio of the number of unemployed to the Swiss labor force. This index greatly moves the market. Please note that it will shake up and down.

SVME Purchasing Department Association Business Index (Importance: Small)

The Swiss Purchasing Department Association (Schweizerischer Verband fur Materialwirtschaft und Einkauf) conducted a questionnaire survey of Swiss manufacturing managers and material purchasers regarding the status of new orders and purchase prices, and is an indicator of trends in Swiss companies.

Swiss National Bank Interest Rate Policy (Importance: High)

Policy rate in Switzerland. Switzerland has abolished the official discount rate, and the Swiss National Bank has set a three-month LIBOR (interbank lending rate) as a guideline. This indicator moves the market as much as the unemployment rate. Please note that it will shake up and down.

Mining and industrial production (importance: small)

It is an index showing the production of industrial products such as electric appliances and automobiles, and when combined with retail sales, it is possible to analyze consumption trends in depth.

Swiss SECO Consumer Confidence Index (Importance: Small)

The Bureau of Economic Management (SECO) Consumer Confidence Index measures household confidence in economic activity. Larger numbers indicate that consumers are optimistic.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) (Importance: High)

Gross Domestic Product (GDP), released by the Economic Secretariat of the Swiss Ministry of Economy (SECO), is data that measures the total amount of all goods and services produced in Switzerland.
